Production, Facts and Artists
Music accomplishes many things: it has practical utility that can be applied to a wide range of endeavors, it can communicate information and emotions, it is a substantial part of culture, it provides entertainment, it gives people an outlet to express themselves, it helps us understand beauty, and it has value on its own.
Production, Facts and Artists
There are many different types of music production that take place. Some of the most common include singing, performing, recording, editing, composing, producing, arranging, writing and improvising.
Some of the most common genres that are represented by the music industry include Rock ‘n’ Roll, R&B, Pop and Traditional Pop.
Aside from these genres, there are also a few other major types of music that are commonly represented by the industry. One of these is Electronic Music.
The production of electronic music largely owes its origin to the development of the electric piano. This instrument enables composers to record sounds on tape or into digital files that would have been otherwise unimaginable.
These electronic instruments have allowed some composers to create works in which the traditional role of interpreter is eliminated and where sounds are generated without the use of the human voice.
Some of these sounds may be incredibly complex and difficult to understand by the listener.
The purpose of this article is not to debate the nature of music or to debunk theories that have popped up around it, but rather to stimulate some thought as to why music exists. In doing so, we hope to encourage more people to appreciate the power and beauty of music.
